Missouri media outlets have pulled two misleading attack ads against Robin Carnahan being aired by Congressman Blunt’s corporate special interest allies. This weekend, a Missouri network including 77 radio stations pulled a false attack ad being run by Americans for Job Security – a group with a long history of campaign related citations and violations. Today, Congressman Blunt is back to business as usual – rubbing elbows with the corporate special interests that are funding his campaign. Congressman Blunt is no stranger to the Big Oil crowd – he has voted to have their back at every twist and turn and taken over $1 million from Big Oil and energy interests during his 14 years in Washington – including a nearly $20,000 haul from ExxonMobil executives in May and June of this year [Center for Responsive Politics; FEC.gov].
Today, Robin Carnahan’s campaign launched Educators for Robin to bring together Missouri educators who share her commitment to fix what’s broken in Washington and put Missouri families first. The group is co-chaired by 7 educators from across Missouri - Sharon Yoder, St. Louis County; Leo and Shirley Langford, Christian County; David Sugg, Carroll County; Richard Pope, Camden County; Peggy Cochran, Morgan County; and Donna Cushman, Clay County.
After weeks of trying to rewrite his record when it comes to being a key architect of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout, today Congressman Blunt released a new ad where he tried out a new Wall Street talking point. This time, Blunt claims he has a “long record of cracking down on Wall Street abuse.” The trouble is, the only evidence Blunt has of that “long record” is one citation…from twenty years ago.
